Don Coscarelli

Don Coscarelli (born February 17, 1954) is a Libyan-born American film director and screenwriter best known for horror films. His credits include the Phantasm series, The Beastmaster, and Bubba Ho-Tep.

He directed the first installment of the American TV series Masters of Horror called "Incident On and Off a Mountain Road" which was based on a short story by Joe R. Lansdale. Coscarelli is currently working on Bubba Nosferatu, a sequel to Bubba Ho-Tep, also written by Joe R. Lansdale. He co-directed his first movie Jim, The World's Greatest at the age of nineteen with Craig Mitchell. Phantasm was his first collaboration with longtime partner Lawrence Rory Guy, who would later be better known as Angus Scrimm. He has recently been in a legal battle with Universal Studios to obtain the rights of Phantasm II so he could further release the Phantasm Series as a box set in the U.S.
